The 3 portraits below all measured around 12 by 8 inches,slightly smaller than the sizes I`ve been working on lately;here`s another 12" by 8" pastel study - hopefully by now your getting some idea what my favourite subject matter is!

Here`s some more pastel portraits from the last few months;I`ve only just discovered pastels after years of being primarily a pencil artist - I love the expressive qualities the medium brings;I always strive to convey a feeling of intense emotion in my work,be it longing or melancholy,and I find using pastels really helps this.

After many years working as a professional artist I thought it was about time I started up a blog so people could look at what I`d been up to lately,plus maybe show a few older pieces.I thought I`d start by showing a group of pastel drawing`s I`ve recently completed - all of these measure around 17" by 11",a little bigger than my normal scale - these pieces are currently for sale in my ebay shop,which is the main place where I sell my work (my ebay user-name is elven-gallery).
